Ready to harness the power of AI?

Key insights from Microsoft and LinkedIn to shape your approach

AI adoption is heating up. Today, 75% of information workers around the world use generative AI at work – with usage nearly doubling in the last six months alone – across technical and non-technical roles.

But are leaders and organisations ready to harness AI’s potential and address its challenges?

To help organisations navigate through the AI transition, Microsoft and LinkedIn conducted research into how AI will reshape work and the labour market using survey data from 31,000 people from 31 countries, LinkedIn hiring trends, Microsoft 365 productivity signals and research with Fortune 500 customers.

The data shows insights and actions that leaders and professionals should know about AI’s impact on work now and in the future.

Here are some of the key insights you’ll find in the report:

  • Employees want AI at work – and won’t wait for companies to catch up. Employees report feeling more satisfied and efficient when they use AI to summarise emails, create presentations and recap meetings. But they’re improvising, as leaders struggle to provide training and guidance to harness AI interest and experimentation.
  • For employees, AI raises the bar and breaks the career ceiling. The labour market is set to shift once again. Today's professionals – many of whom stayed put over the past year in the face of a possible recession – are feeling ready to make new career moves.
  • The rise of the AI power user – and what they reveal about the future. The most enthusiastic and frequent AI users are reshaping the working day, saving time, increasing productivity and enhancing creativity.
